Fond Du Lac and the Lake Winnebago Region Celebrates Art and Really Big Fun

Art All Around” celebrates art and really big fun, May 31st through June 3rd in Fond du Lac and the Lake Winnebago Region.  You won’t want to miss this interactive weekend featuring art from throughout the Midwest, as well as music, fun on the farm, mouth-watering food and family experiences for all ages.

There’s so much to see and do that it will take four days and the entire area to showcase the creativity and pure joy of art in the Lake Winnebago region.  We suggest you chart out your weekend based on locations and times as to not miss any of the fun.  This is a festival that can be enjoyed by couples, groups of friends and the entire family.  It’s usually a cliché to say there’s something for everyone, but literally … there is something for everyone!  Where do you find fine art, crafts, interactive art activities, concerts, graffiti and chainsaw demonstrations, farm-fresh food, walking and trolley tours, reclaimed and plein air artisans and artists and crafters from around the Midwest within a 30-mile drive over four days?

According to Craig Molitor, President & CEO of the Fond du Lac Area Convention & Visitors and Bureau, “There is nothing like this festival in the region that celebrates art in all its forms.  We have gathered artisans from around the Midwest to showcase their talent and highlight this amazing part of Wisconsin with a natural setting that lends itself to inspiring works of art, farm-grown cuisine, music and family fun!”

Thursday, May 31 kicks-off the festival with a Canvas Unplugged from 5 to 9pm and a Welcome Reception from 6 to 9pm at Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts.  Art inspired across many mediums and subject matters encourage the community and visitors to appreciate the creative process and enjoy it along with food, drinks and entertainment.

Locals and visitors are encouraged to take in the influences of the area and draw inspiration from the nearby Kettle Moraine, unique views of the Niagara Escarpment and the idyllic countryside with sprawling farms and orchards along the eastern shore of Lake Winnebago all day on Friday, June 1st. In the evening take a walk along Fond du Lac’s Downtown District for Gallery & Busker Night from 5 to 9 pm.  Tour six unique galleries while being entertained by street musicians.  Art on the Plaza will showcase performing art exhibits, interactive art displays and restaurant specials from 5 to 9pm at the Main Street Plaza.
